i been lifting weights and my left tricep is sore to the touch and my shoulder if i press on it hard. i havent loss any weakness, and it feels a little better while i am lifting just hurts after. is it ok to still lift

About 5 months ago while lifting weights I felt sharp pain in my right shoulder. Anyway I backed off for a couple of months to only lifting once a week and focused primarily on light weights more repatitions Anyway now my right shoulder seems to be fine and back to normal strength but I have noticed a severe and rapid loss of strength in my left arm and shoulder. First noticed it in push-ups and now with every except side that requires shoulder. Can barely lift half of what my right arm can. Not much pain at all. Just feels stiff.

Hi Bill, this could be due to a number of factors (rotator cuff injury, ‘trapped nerve’ etc)

It really needs a thorough examination before I can give you more of a diagnosis.
